Hometown Hero Banners
We are proud to announce the Hometown Hero Banners for Honeoye Falls, Lima and Mendon NY. Current active service members of the U.S. Military who have graduated from Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District or whose families reside in Honeoye Falls, Lima or Mendon are eligible to have their Name, Branch of Service and Photo displayed on a Banner. The Banners are displayed in Honeoye Falls, Lima and Mendon NY approximately from Memorial Day through Veterans Day of each year. Families of said members will not be charged for the Hometown Hero Banner and will, if desired upon completion of Military Service, receive the banner of their loved one as a gift from this community program. The Hometown Hero Banners program is organized by “All Volunteers” and is “Not” affiliated with the respective Village or Towns. We do have an agreement with the aforementioned Villages and Towns to Display “Our Banners” on the Private Utility poles, with display and location subject to the discretion of their DPW.
Hometown Hero Banners is a “Donation” based program; the donations are used to purchase the Banners only. In order to have a banner made you will need to fill out an application available on line at the Village of Honeoye Falls web page, or the Town & Village of Lima web page. Paper applications are available at the Town of Mendon in the front Lobby as well as in the Village of Honoeye Falls & Lima offices. Electronic application and photo are preferred. When submitting your photograph please pay close attention to the required size; incorrect size will only delay the application process. All photographs, if not electronic version, are returned after being scanned for banner production.
