Public Notice

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of Mendon, Monroe County, New York at a regular meeting held on May 13, 2024, duly adopted, subject to permissive referendum, an abstract of which follows:

A motion was made by Mr. Rosiek, seconded by Mrs. Roberts, to adopt the following:

WHEREAS, the Town of Mendon (the “Town”) abandoned Stoney Lonesome Road pursuant to New York Highway Law§ 205 in Resolutions 97-200 and 97-349; and

WHEREAS, Kathryn A. Bryan and Philip L. Bryan are the owners of two (2) parcels, situated in the Town of Mendon, New York: SBLs 215.03-1-7.2 and 215.03-1-7.3 (more commonly known as 3179 Rush Mendon Road, Mendon, New York, 14472); and

WHEREAS, the Town desires to convey two (2) parcels that formerly comprised Stoney Lonesome Road (more commonly known as SBLs 215.03-1-7.2/NROW and 215.03-1- 7.2/SROW) to Kathryn A. Bryan and Philip L. Bryan; and

WHEREAS, the Town has been presented with a proposal to convey SBLs 215.03-1-

7.2/NROW and 215.03-1-7.2/SROW to Kathryn A. Bryan and Philip L. Bryan; and

WHEREAS, the Town Board concludes that the conveyance constitutes a Type II action under SEQR and requires no further SEQR review, analysis or action; and

WHEREAS, the Town desires to grant said parcels to Kathryn A. Bryan and Philip L. Bryan upon terms that are satisfactory and acceptable to the Town and counsel for the Town; and

NOW, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Board authorizes the Supervisor to negotiate and execute the deed necessary to effectuate such conveyance: (a) upon such terms acceptable to the Supervisor, (b) in such form approved by counsel for the Town, and (c) subject to full and complete satisfaction and compliance with all applicable local and state laws regarding the sale of municipal-owned real property, including, but not limited to New York State Town Law§ 64 and any requirement and/or condition for a permissive referendum.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Town Clerk shall post and publish a Notice which shall set forth the date of the adoption of this Resolution, shall contain an abstract of such Resolution, shall specify that  this Resolution was adopted subject to a permissive referendum; and shall publish notice in the official newspaper for the Town, and in addition thereto, that the Town Clerk shall post or cause to be posted on the signboard of the Town a copy of said Notice within ten (10) days of the adoption of this Resolution.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Mendon Town Board has scheduled a Public Hearing on June 10, 2024, at 7:00 PM at the Mendon Town Hall, to consider a local law to amend Town Code Chapter 241 to conform to current law and regulations.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Mendon Town Board has scheduled a Public Hearing for May 13, 2024, at 7:00 PM at the Mendon Town Hall, to adopt a Local Law to implement a temporary moratorium on smoke shops. A copy of the proposed law is on file in the Town Clerk’s Office and available on the Website.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 260 of the Town Code of the Town of Mendon, a public hearing will be held by the Town of
Mendon Zoning Board of Appeals at the Mendon Town Hall, 16 West Main Street, Honeoye Falls, NY, in said town, on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 7:00 pm for the purpose
of hearing all persons interested in the following application: An area variance application by Peter and Susanne Pallo, 97 Boughton Hill Road, Honeoye Falls, NY, consisting of 6.73 acres, for a 1,024 square-foot pole barn with a front setback of 28-feet, whereas code requires a 60-foot front setback and therefore requires an area variance. Zoned RA-5. Tax account no. 229.01-1-6.

The Zoning Board of Appeals will at said time and place hear all persons in support of the application or in objection thereto. Persons may appear in person or by an agent.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Mendon Town Board has established the following as meeting dates for its boards, commissions, and committees.  All meetings are held at 7:00 PM at 16 West Main Street, Honeoye Falls, NY.  Town Board: January 29, February 12, March 11, April 8, May 13, June 10, July 15, August 12, September 9, September 23, October 21, November 18, and December 9; the Environmental Conservation Board: the first Tuesday of each month: the Historic Preservation Commission: the first Wednesday of each month; the Planning Board: the first and third Wednesday of each month; and the Zoning Board of Appeals: the second and fourth Thursday of each month as needed.

2024 Town and County Tax Receiver’s warrant

Legal Notice

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Michelle Booth, Receiver of Taxes for the Town of Mendon, has received the 2024 Town and County Collector’s Tax Warrant for the Town of Mendon. Taxes will be received at the Mendon Town Hall, 16 West Main Street, Honeoye Falls, NY 14472-1199, from 8:00AM-4:00PM, Monday through Thursday, and 8:00AM-1:00PM on Fridays, except holidays.

TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that taxes may be paid on or before February 10th without interest. On payments received after such date, there shall be added interest of 1.5% if paid on or before February 28th and an additional 1.5% for each additional month or fraction thereof thereafter until such taxes are paid or until the return of unpaid taxes to the county treasurer pursuant to law.

TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that pursuant to the provisions of law, the tax roll of the Town of Mendon will be returned to the County Treasurer of the County of Monroe on the 1st day of June 2024.
