Welcome to the Town of Mendon's, Highway Department.
The Highway Department exists to serve the needs of Mendon's residents and the needs of those who pass through our community.
We have developed this website in an effort to inform our residents about their Highway Department, the Highway Department's activities, and the Department's personnel.

Our mission at the Highway and Buildings & Grounds Departments is to provide the safest possible means of travel for the residents and visitors of the Town of Mendon. Additionally, we make every effort to secure the safe operating conditions of our Buildings and Grounds facilities and recreation equipment.
4-29-19 Seeking qualified full time employee willing to work and possessing a clean Class B CDL License. Training and work history in diesel mechanics. Employee will also participate in snow and ice operations during winter months. Must be able to get to highway department within 20 minutes on a call out basis in additon to regulars during winter months. A pre-employment physical and drug testing is required. 4-29-19 The spring brush pick up commenced today.
4-2-19 The tennis court on Semmel Road is now open. This court has been totally renovated and is available for use. The tennis court at Mendon Center (SR251) is also open. This court surface is to be refurbished this summer.
4-2-19 The skating rink is closed for the season. It will be drained and removed shortly.
3-11-19 The Highway Department has tentatively set April 29, 2019 for the start of the SPRING BRUSH PICKUP. Guidelines remain the same. Any questions, contact the Highway Department.
5-29-13 The EMERALD ASH BORER is an invasive species that attacks ash trees by burrowing under the bark and laying its larvae. Preventive measures are strictly regulated, expensive, and temporary. Many web sites provide a wealth of information on the the borer, with the Cornell University Cooperative Extension hosting one. If you have ash trees, or want further information, click here.

People often confuse the relationship of the
Town of Mendon and the Linear Trail that runs
through the Town of Mendon.
The Town of Mendon has several parks and these parks are supported by the tax base of the Town, and other fees. The majority of the maintenance within these parks is conducted by Mendon's Highway Department.
