NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town of Mendon will hold a special meeting 7:00PM, Monday, February 1, 2010, at the Town of Mendon Falls Post 664 Community Center, 167 North Main Street, Honeoye Falls, NY. The purpose of the special meeting is to hold a workshop session on the library project.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the 2010 meetings of the Town of Mendon will occur as follows at the Mendon Town Hall, 16 West Main Street, Honeoye Falls, NY: Town Board - 2nd and 4th Monday of each month (with the second meeting of the month to be held at the Mendon Fire Hall, 101 Mendon Ionia Road, Mendon, NY), 7:00PM; Planning Board - 2nd and 4th Wedensday of each month, 7:00PM; Zoning Board of Appeals - 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month as needed, 7:30PM; Environmental Conservation Board - 3rd Monday of each month, 7:00PM; Recreation Commission - 1st Monday of each month (except 3rd Monday in July and there is no meeting in August), 7:00PM; Historic Preservation Commission - 2nd Wednesday of each month, 7:30PM.

The following committees meet on an as needed basis: Cable Television Committee; Farmland Advisory Committee; and the Parks Advisory Committee.

Times are subject to change. Please check with the appropriate office before attending any meeting. Meeting dates that fall on a holliday will be rescheduled the month prior.

NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION SUBJECT TO PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM, AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE MENDON PUBLIC LIBRARY INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, AN ADDITION THERETO, AND THE ISSUANCE OF SERIAL BONDS OF THE TOWN OF MENDON, MONROE COUNTY, NEW YORK IN AN AGGREGATE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,350,000 PURSUANT TO THE LOCAL FINANCE LAW TO FINANCE SAID PURPOSE AND DELEGATING THE POWER TO ISSUE BOND ANTICIPATION NOTES IN ANTICIPATION OF THE SALE OF SUCH BONDS TO THE TOWN SUPERVISOR.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of Mendon, Monroe County, New York, at a regular meeting thereof held on the 28th day of December, 2009, duly adopted a resolution subject to a permissive referendum, the purpose and effect of which is to authorize the issuance and sale of serial bonds in the amount of One Million Three Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($1,350,000.00) for the construction of an addition and the reconstruction of the Mendon Public Library, including site work, the acquisition of original furnishings, equipment, machinery or apparatus required for the purposes for which such addition and reconstructed building are to be used. The estimated cost of the project is not to exceed $3,954,303. The Town plans to finance the total cost of the project by the issuance of the Bonds and the expenditure of not to exceed $2,604,303 of funds and gifts and grants received by the Town for the purpose of financing the project as such funds and gifts and grants become available.

Qualified electors of the Town have 30 days after the adoption of the resolution to petition that the resolution be submitted to vote. If no petition is filed, the resolution of the Town Board becomes effective 30 days after its adoption and no election is required.

Any such petition to be valid must be subscribed and acknowledged by qualified Town electors numbering at least 5% of the total vote cast for governor in the Town at the last general election of state officers, and filed with the Town Clerk. If a valid petition is filed more than 75 days before an biennial Town election, a proposition must be submitted to the voters at a special Town election to be held not less than 60 nor more than 75days after filing of the petition.

Receiver of Taxes

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that James P. Merzke, Receiver of Taxes for the Town of Mendon, has received the 2010 Collector’s Tax Warrant for the Town of Mendon. Taxes will be received at the Mendon Town Hall, 16 West Main Street, Honeoye Falls, NY 14472-1199, from 8:30AM-4:30PM, Monday through Friday, except holidays.

TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that taxes may be paid on or before February 10th without charge or interest. On payments received after such date, there shall be added interest of 1.5% if paid on or before February 28th and an additional 1.5% for each additional month or fraction thereof thereafter until such taxes are paid or until the return of unpaid taxes to the county treasurer pursuant to law.

TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that pursuant to the provisions of law, the tax roll of the Town of Mendon will be returned to the County Treasurer of the County of Monroe on the 1st day of June 2010.

Planning Board

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Planning Board of the Town of Mendon will hold a Public Hearing, on the site plan application of Bell Atlantic Mobile of Rochester, L.P. d/b/a Verizon Wireless, 175 Calkins Road, Rochester, NY 14623, to construct an 80 foot cell tower at 101 Mendon Ionia Road, Mendon, NY, consisting of 4.83 acres, bearing Tax Account No. 216.04-1-3.21, located in an RS-30,000 zone.

SAID HEARING will be held on the 10th day of February, 2010 at the Town Offices, 16 West Main Street, Honeoye Falls, New York, at 7:00 p.m., Prevailing Time.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that the application may be inspected at the Town Office during normal business hours. All interested parties are invited to attend in person or by Attorney and be heard.

Zoning Board of Appeals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 200 of the Town Code of the Town of Mendon, a public hearing will be held by the Town of Mendon Zoning Board of Appeals at the Mendon Town Hall, 16 West Main Street, Honeoye Falls, NY, in said town, on Thursday, February 11, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. for the purpose of hearing all persons interested in the following application:

An application by Harold and Katie Joint, 461 Parrish Road, Honeoye Falls, NY, for a use variance at said property, consisting of 23.2 acres, bearing Tax Account No. 231.01-1-10, located in an RA-1 zone, to construct a single family dwelling in a Steep Slope EPOD which requires a use variance.

The Zoning Board of Appeals will at said time and place hear all persons in support of the application or in objection thereto. Persons may appear in person or by an agent.
